My late voice teacher sang at the Met in the 60's and told me that Ms.
Nilsson would finish a Wagner role and, in her dressing room, sing "Der
holle rache" AFTER the Wagner opera was over because she felt she was
warmed up enough to do it. That must have been amazing to hear.
