This reminded me of a rather comical situation I was in last year, when
taking the Toronto Conservatory of Music grade 10 examination in voice. I
was required to bring originals both for the pianist AND for the examiner,
and had selections from about 9 different books to sing! Times that by two,
and you get 18 very heavy books, most of them hardcover from my music
library! I should also add that I am not a very big person.....

I had intended on taking the bus to my examination, as it was not too
far off. However, my accompanist insisted on picking me up, and on the
morning of the exam, had quite a chuckle when he saw me come out of the
house with an armful of books, which I could just about stagger out to the
car with, and could not possibly have taken on the bus!

It is absolutely ridiculous to be required to have TWO copies of music,
I think - if nothing else, for practicality reasons! It is a good thing I
didn't break my back!
